Pacific Northwest Vakay Day 4

Day 4: Day four brought us back to the city life. We knew we had a busy day ahead of us because we were hitting two cities in one day, and we had to get through customs in between the cities. We made our game plan and set out ready for fun. We started in Seattle's Pike's Fish Market. We walked up Post Alley to see the gum wall.

It was DISGUSTING!!!

But we went ahead and added our own gum anyway!

My gum is in this pack!

Matt adding his gum to the wall

Then we walked up to the Market to take a look around.

We saw flying fish, tons of adorable souvenirs,

and more Starbucks than anyone would know what to do with including the original. The line was about a block out the door-it was insane!

The city also had some beautiful totem poles.

Then we headed to the next tourist attraction-the Space Needle.

We made it to the top!

It was also next to a beautiful garden filled with some really neat glass blown pieces.

Seattle was filled with very beautiful art.

As well as some strange art....

The troll under the bridge

Do you see the spiders on top of the building?

Then we headed north for one last time-to Canada! We forgot to download Canadian maps onto our GPS before we left, didn't bring a road atlas, and obviously my phone would not work up there so we were left to improvise. We downloaded a map of Vancouver with some of the streets onto Matt's tablet, and I was left to navigate us around in a foreign city.

We went to go check out Stanley Park. It was recently voted the top park in the entire world. We thought we better see what this was all about. As you know, Central Park is one of our favorite places (it is where we got engaged after all) so we have pretty high expectations for anything that can beat it out in a contest. First we went to the rose garden.

Then we headed to the water.

And to the totem poles!

We have to admit, it was awesome! It totally beats out Central Park in our book! We drove through the park and didn't see the whole thing. It was so pretty!

That night we headed down to Granville Island for dinner.

We enjoyed a meal at Bridges, right on the water. The food was amazing, and the view was spectacular!!

By this point, we were starting to get the streets of Vancouver figured out. We were so sad to be leaving the next day. There were so many other places we wanted to see-the Butchart Gardens, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Cinatown, the Overlook, the Grouse Grind at Grouse Mountain and Whistler. Oh well, guess we will have to go back soon! I think we will. We had such an amazing time, and the people there are so nice! Join me tomorrow as I tell you all about the rest of our time in the land of our friendly Northern neighbors!
