Scandinavia Trip: Sweden Ancestry Part Two

Today I am finally sharing our last post from our Scandinavia trip!
If you missed any of the other posts, here is a recap (and you can click on each link to read about that day):

We hung out in our apartment that morning before we headed out for more ancestry hunting. We all enjoyed the chance to sleep in a little bit and just relax in our own space.

We headed further into the countryside. We stopped for lunch at a cute little place that served a really good buffet for not very much money! We got there just before noon, and it got REALLY busy about 10 minutes after we got there.

Since our first day of ancestry hunting was spent with my family member, we spent most of this day looking for Matt's side of the family. Matt searched through this cemetery looking for relatives.

This is the church in Vislanda, where Matt believes his great-great grandparents were married.

Ramsey thought she would help the workers water the flowers!

We took a peek inside the church, too!

The caretakers gave us some directions and sent us on a little goose chase to the nearby town. We are pretty certain we found the house Matt's great-great grandparents lived in, but apparently I didn't take any pictures of that...
We headed back towards "home" and stopped for dinner at a cute little bakery in Habo. They had the neatest play room for kids. We were the only people in there so Ramsey enjoyed the place to herself while Matt and I ate.

She had fun with the kitchen toys.

Such a little stinker!

She had a GREAT time!

Ramsey was just figuring out how to walk up and down stairs on this trip so she had a great time every time we got back to our apartment! Her independence flourished on this trip!

The next day we headed to the airport for our long trip home.

Ramsey thought she needed to sit in my seat. Luckily we had lots of leg room space in front of us so I could sit on the floor!

And she loved looking at everyone in the plane from her bassinet!

Reading her books!

There was a couple from Sweden with a little boy a couple weeks younger than Ramsey on our flight. Those two spent several hours in the galley with the stewardesses and had a great time! Thanks for reading through our adventures, hope you enjoyed it!

Scandinavia Trip: Sweden-Stockholm

After a day of sightseeing in the country, we headed to the city. Ready for a day in Stockholm! Since we spent so many hours cooped up in the car (it was about a four hour drive one way), I didn't want to make Ramsey sit in a stroller all day so we just brought her carrier. Turns out, we walked more than I had planned...

The only place we had a hard time finding people who spoke English was when we were trying to buy 24 hour passes for the subway in Stockholm. So after some struggle we made it onto the subway and headed to city center.

The architecture was beautiful.

We headed to Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm, and did a little shopping. We walked through the narrowest street in Stockholm, Marten Trotzigs Grand.

It took us a little while to find this street!

We walked some more, heading toward the Royal Palace.

We arrived at the Royal Palace to watch the changing of the guards.

We had to wait quite a while so Ramsey wanted to walk around. She and I ventured into the gift shop at just the right time. The processional walked right past us and we had an unobstructed view of everything!

We headed back outside to watch some more.

As we headed to our next destination, we walked past the place where they grant Nobel Prizes.

We got our selfie with the Stortorget houses!

Beautiful buildings everywhere!

We headed to a little park to rest and eat some lunch. Ramsey had fun with the bunnies.

She trapped herself in...

She figured out how to get out!

Such a happy day!

The buildings along the water were beautiful!

We walked past the Nordic Museum that looked simply stunning from the outside!

We arrived at our next stop, the Vasa Museum!

We didn't really know what to expect but everyone told us to go there!

It seemed crazy to have an entire museum around one ship, but after we were there we realized it was not crazy at all!

We tried to take a little tour, but Ramsey and I spent most of our time wandering around-looking out the window or climbing up and down the stairs!

We learned so much while we were there!

This ship was so tall!

Ramsey found herself a little friend!

We headed back to the subway and enjoyed more gorgeous scenery along the way.

This day looked very different than our other days in Sweden. It was nice to see the difference between the city and the country! Stay tuned, I have one last post for you!
