Southeast Road Trip: Day 1

Hi there! Matt and I have been creating memories the last several weeks, and now it is time I share them with all of you! Many of you followed me on Instagram and caught up with our road trip day to day. For the next two weeks I will be highlighting every day. I took over 2,000 pictures so get ready!!
We flew into Memphis, the land of FedEx.

We asked some locals for the best BBQ, and they suggested Interstate BBQ. It is still a family run company. and the food was delicious!

We headed down to Beale Street to take a few pictures. As many of you may know we have a large map in our guest room. Each state we visit, we take a picture and cut it out into the shape of that state. Two years ago we completed the West Coast. This summer was time for the southeast with a start in Tennessee.

We checked out a little bit of Memphis. We were here about four years ago, and it was fun to see it all again!

The old Memphis Grizzlies arena is now a HUGE Bass Pro Shop!

We crossed the river to snap a picture in Arkansas. We spent the night here a few years ago so we had already counted that state, no good picture though!

Our goal was to get to New Orleans at the end of the night. We made a quick stop in Jackson, MS for, you guessed it, more pictures!

The Governor's Mansion

We made a quick stop at the gas station and saw this. We were definitely in the South!

As we were driving, we saw this! Once we passed him, it looked like it was just a personal RV! Go big or go home, right?

We made it to downtown New Orleans!

We headed straight for the French Quarter. I enjoyed wandering the streets and checking out the cool architecture.

We made a quick stop at the river to enjoy the view.

We headed to Bourbon Street. One of my colleagues told me "it's a trip." I had no idea what she meant by that. Now I completely understand! We didn't last too long!

When in LA, you eat the local cuisine, Raising Canes!

That ended day one. We were off to a great start!! See you again tomorrow for day two!
