Southeast Road Trip: Day 7

This day was spent at Myrtle Beach. Some of our friends told us to check out Broadway on the Pier so we headed there first. I can't even describe this place to you. Imagine every commercialized activity you can think of, Planet Hollywood, Ripley's Believe or Not, putt putt golfing, etc. and then add local beach charm shopping, plus a boardwalk, and that is Broadway on the Pier!

We enjoyed shopping, watching the fish, and checking out the adventure boat rides that go right through the middle of all the action.
Next we headed to the beach for more shopping and beach time.

I gathered tons of sea shells here for a project for my room at the lake house. So for the next few days, plus two plane trips, I carried those sea shells with me!

Once we had our fill of the beach, we headed to Wilmington, North Carolina, or as I like to refer to it, Tree Hill! One Tree Hill was shot on location in Wilmington so with a few quick google searches we were able to find the addresses of the homes they used as fronts for many of the characters!
When we were driving by Lucas's house there was a family out walking along the very quiet street. We couldn't tell if they lived there or what was going on so I tried to play it off coll like we were just driving by. The house had a few No Trespassing signs so I didn't want to appear that we were loitering. As we were leaving the girl in the group took her boyfriend to the steps of the house and took a picture!! So turns out they were there for the exact same reason we were! No wonder the house has No Trespassing signs. If you can't embrace it, it may be time to move! As we were driving by the "high school" we came across the cutest shopping area. We stopped for some ice cream at an adorable little shop. We wrote them a nice note in the provided notebooks!

That night we drove to Columbia, South Carolina. We don't usually stay at too many neat places along our road trip, except for this night! We headed to dinner at a brewery near South Carolina's campus.

We stayed right next to campus in a historic house that has been recreated into a beautiful hotel, The Inn at USC. After dinner we also took a stroll through campus.

The President of USC lives right in the heart of campus! So crazy!!

USC has the coolest snapchat filters, so I used every single one!

Then we ended the night sitting on the porch in the cutest rocking chairs to enjoy the humidity! ;)

Day seven was another great day and night!! To look back at the other days of our trip simply click on the day you want to read:
