Southeast Road Trip: Day 2

Day two was spent touring the Oak Alley Plantation outside of New Orleans. We loved it!! It was definitely one of our favorite experiences of our whole trip!

We began with a tour of the mansion from a worker dressed in period clothing.

There are 22 oak trees that create a path to the house from the road. There are 300 years old and about halfway through their life.

The entire grounds were beautiful!

We thought this view would make the perfect Louisiana picture. Unfortunately it was a little warm and no one else wanted to walk the path the same time we were out there. We had to get really creative with a timer!!

I deleted 90% of the pictures we took, but I thought I would share the best ones with you!!

We hiked up to the levy to get a picture of the entire home and tree-lined path. Stunning!!

There was sugar cane growing everywhere! Louisiana has its own unique feel, and it was fun to experience.

We drove past the Space Center somewhere in Alabama. It looked like fun!

We drove along the Gulf Coast and traffic was really backed up. Apparently everyone else wanted to get to the beach, too!

We were planning to head to Gulf Shores, but traffic slowed us down quite a bit. We made a quick stop in Daphne (to get my Hart of Dixie fill)! We found a cute little park to take our Alabama picture.

We spent the night in Tallahassee, FL  and headed across Florida the next day. See you Wednesday for Day 3!
