Southeast Road Trip: Day 5

Hello again! We are about halfway through our trip, and I am loving reminiscing our trip! Hope you are enjoying it, too. Day five was another one of my favorites! We stopped for lunch at the beach in St. Augustine. We had a beautiful view!

After checking out the oldest city in America, we headed into Savannah. I must say this was the place I was most looking forward to, and it did not disappoint! We explored Forsyth Park, and it was gorgeous!

Savannah is full of cute little "squares" which are tiny parks every two or three blocks.

Along the walk, we saw many beautiful homes. I especially enjoyed the ones adorned with patriotic decor.

There were historical home tours everywhere we walked!

We also walked through Savannah College of Art & Design. It was such a beautiful campus! Tomorrow I will show my obsession with One Tree Hill, but it started on this day. Peyton talked about going here during one visit to Savannah. I would have wanted to go here too!

We also drove past the first headquarters for the Girl Scouts. This town is full of historical everything!

Then we headed to the City Market area which was full of cute shops and restaurants.

We stopped by Paula Dean's restaurant, The Lady and Sons, as well as her gift shop. Everything smelled delicious!

Next, we walked to the riverfront district to explore more fun shopping and restaurants.

We enjoyed dinner on the riverfront at a cute little seafood place.

While we were eating, a container ship passed through the port. It was crazy!! The river looked so tiny, and the ship was enormous!

We also enjoyed a gorgeous sunset on the river.

And we walked alongside the "waving girl" statue which was built for the '96 Olympics.

We stopped for some candy at Savannah's Candy Kitchen, again it was enormous!

I enjoyed a yummy "gopher" while Matt listened to the trumpeter perform.

The riverfront was awesome! It was full of street performers, individually laid bricks, and overgrown trees.

Savannah is the most beautiful town! We seriously can't wait to go back!
