Hello again, friends! I hope you are enjoying catching up on our vacation. We celebrated the fourth of July as far south as we could-Key West! Up to this point, this was probably my favorite day, and definitely ended as one of my favorites. The drive was very unique which seems to be a common adjective for this vacation! There were multiple bridges that span across the ocean which totally baffled me. The old bridges were used for cars and railroads. Matt had told me some movies have been shot on the old bridges when they want an action scene of a car driving along the ocean and the bridge blowing up behind them. I don't know it that's true or not, but here seems to be plenty of proof!
We made it to the end of the road!
Luckily we left early and had good traffic both ways. The line to take a picture here wasn't too bad either.
We drove past Ernest Hemingway's house.
and walked past the bar some locals told us he enjoyed going to often.
One of the shop workers told us a cruise ship comes to port every single day! We parked our car and took off walking. There were wild chickens every where! Others told us we would also see six toed cats running around that used to belong to Hemingway, but we didn't see a single one. It may have been too hot for them to be out and about!
Matt took a video of this one crossing the road. Such a clever pun!
I love walking around the touristy areas! I think it is so much fun to check out the history as well as the shops.
We did some shopping then enjoyed lunch on the pier.
Florida has been our most difficult state to get a picture of ourselves to go on our map. The shape of Florida is tough! Our sweet waitress spent several minutes trying to get the shot right!
We ended up choosing this one because we needed the angle shot!
We headed over to the beach before heading back to the mainland.
On our way back, we stopped at the seven mile bridge to you guessed it, take more pictures!!
We drove about halfway up the east coast of Florida that night and enjoyed several firework shows along the way! We took a bunch of firework videos but probably are not worth posting here. I hope you are excited about day five because it was my favorite city visit!
