Sunday was our National Park day. We found some fun patriotic flare for breakfast in preparation for the fourth of July.
We drove down Florida most of the day and made it by late afternoon to explore the Everglades and Biscayne.
The National Parks are celebrating 100 years this summer! We <3 National Parks!
The Everglades looked about how I expected: swampy, green, and unlike anything I have witnessed. We saw the biggest grasshoppers I have ever seen in my entire life!
It was a little rainy so I got some use out of my darling umbrella!
Ads we drove from site to site, Matt caught sight of an alligator!
We have gotten so good at self-timer photos we are now getting into artistic shots! ;)
We headed over to the beach area leading out to the ocean.
You don't see too many NPS buildings with a palm tree out front!
We spotted a huge alligator across the river!
We stayed in Homestead that night which is the very southern tip of Florida in order to get a jump start to Key West the next day. Can't wait to share our 4th of July with you tomorrow!
