Nolan Visits: Monster Jam

My (not so) little brother, Nolan, came to visit Matt and I for a few 10 days. He graduated from college early as you may have seen in THIS post. So he decided to do a little traveling because that is what you do when you graduate from college, right? We decided way back in August he should come down and we would go to Monster Jam. We packed in the fun for 10 days, and we are still trying to recover! Now we can look back on it and remember all the fun we had with him.
So the original reason Nolan came was to go to Monster Jam. I was not quite sure what to expect, but wow, it was really fun! We started out Saturday morning with a hike at South Mountain.

That afternoon, we headed to the stadium for Monster Jam. They must have had some sort of snow activity at the mall near by. Nolan and Matt decided to throw some snow balls around in the parking lot-in t-shirts, next to palm trees.

Nolan got us pit passes which allowed up to walk around on the track with all the monster trucks before the show. It was pretty fun to see plus the stadium looks totally different from down there!

They had signs we could write on. Nolan decided to write "BEST vacation ever" on his, and that it was!

We went to go eat at a waffle shop which basically meant they make sandwiches with waffles as the bread. It was pretty awesome!
The show started, and it was very well organized which led to maximum entertainment!

First, they raced.

During breaks, they had these smaller cars race around as well.

Grave Digger won!

Then it came time for the freestyle.

This girl was in the lead for most of the night.

We saw a couple wrecks.

And then Grave Digger came out to close the show...

Back flip!

He went until he crashed.

He also won the freestyle!

As we were leaving we saw a bunch of people standing in line for autographs. The police were gathered around the elevator so we figured the drivers must be coming out soon. Sure enough!

It was kind of funny to see these guys being treated like royalty!

And we got to watch them clean up, I think the guys enjoyed this just about as much.

That was our first day of fun. Stay tuned to hear more about our super eventful week!
