Alaska~Seward

Here we are!! Today is the first part of my recap of our amazing trip to Alaska! And cheers to me for not having it take six months to get this done!!

There was a free seat next to Matt on one of our flights so woo hoo, Ramsey got her own seat! I vividly remember as we were flying in, I looked out the window and saw rows upon rows of mountains. It was unreal! Some rows were snow capped and others were not. I've never seen anything like it!

We landed in Anchorage with all of our stuff! Waiting for our rental car...We headed straight to our hotel to sleep and get ready for our big first day in Alaska!

The next morning we hit the ground running with a drive down to Seward. I tried to get a picture of the iconic Alaska train as we passed it...clearly I did not do the best! There were a couple forest fires throughout the state that actually caused the trains to be stopped so some other visitors that planned to ride the train had to take buses instead. What a let down I am sure!

Our first stop-hike at Exit Glacier!

Found it!

Beautiful terrain

Our little hiking family!

We made it to the glacier!

They had signs posted everywhere as to where the glacier was on certain years. It's pushed back a lot since 2005. So crazy! That was well within our lifetime.

I love my little family :)

The cutest little hiker!

Headed off to explore.

a world of possibilities!

Matt took some great "blog worthy" photos. I actually had no idea he was taking these!

The river basins were crazy huge!

Ramsey could give Stanton a million kisses each day!

Hiking with my girls!

Then we headed into town and grabbed lunch. Ramsey is loving Stanton more each day! Their bond is becoming stronger all the time, and it's really fun to watch :)

We headed over to our boat cruise for the afternoon.

The captain was very knowledgeable and had tons of good info to share!

Watching the puffins swim in the water.

We cruised passed several old military barracks hidden along the shore.

There was lots of beautiful landscape to observe.

The girls got in some naps on the boat!

Sea lions!

Ramsey loved trying out the binoculars!

So cute!

A pretty mural outside the hotel the boat took off from.

We planned to check out the Sea Life aquarium or the Conservation Center, but we were all tired! We stopped for a rest in Girdwood instead.

We grabbed pizza and then a cookie before checking out the blueberry festival at the Alyeska Resort.

We had a great first day!
