Birthday parties and a bed

Here is the next update on our lives! A couple months ago you may remember we went to the showroom for a new Phoenix based mattress company. Well we finally ordered one! It arrived a few days later in its box.

Here it is before we unrolled it!

And we are loving it! I would totally recommend it!

Last weekend we had one of Matt's colleagues and his wife over for dinner. We had such a nice time eating together and enjoying their company! I made breakfast for supper and s'mores fondue for dessert.

We headed out front to play a round of corn hole. Our neighbors came out and joined us. It's kind of fun to live across the street from you friends, it's like college all over again-only maybe better! I guess I forgot to take any pictures but Saturday was filled with birthday parties. In the afternoon we headed over to a friend's for our first birthday party of the day. They recently moved into their new house which they had remodeled. It looked great! That night we headed to our neighbors for a second birthday party, this one was super hero themed. Matt and I bought some super hero t-shirts to wear for the occasion. I tell you what, we should have more parties when it is encouraged to wear t-shirts! Their house was festively decorated which I guess you will just have to take my word for since I took zero pictures!
We introduced some of our neighbors to Psych, if you haven't play you totally should! You play on your phone so I always thought it would be fun to play from separate locations. We have been playing pretty regularly now, sometimes together, sometimes from our own homes. It's so fun!! It was such a nice carefree weekend!! Angela and Patrick are FINALLY coming to visit this weekend so be on the lookout for more fun adventures to come!

Impromptu Family Photo Shoot

The weekend we were back home, we decided to have a little photo shoot! It was just on our cell phones so the quality is okay. Today I thought I would post all our pictures! So feel free to skip or enjoy a bunch of pictures!!

What a goofball!

Love these guys!!

This on was a little pixel-y but it's a great picture in the front of the new lake house!

Surprise Visit Home

Hello friends!! I see it has been nearly a month since I posted something! :S I will get you filled in over the next couple weeks. I feel like I have been saying that a lot lately... Our biggest excitement was a couple weeks ago. My mom was planning a little party to celebrate her 50th birthday party so my dad decided to plan a little surprise and flew us back home for the weekend! It was a whirlwind trip, but what isn't in our lives?! We took off early Saturday morning, and the sunrise was gorgeous peeking out above the mountains! (Hard to see, just take my word!)

We arrived at the airport, and they told us to park in the hangar! :O

We went back with a few other former Bertrand-ites that are now Phoenicians.

We brought the donuts!

Buckled up and ready to go!

Again, pretty cool view!

We flew right over Bertrand!

We landed and Nolan picked us up. He had a couple errands to run so we went with him. My dad brought my mom and Atlee and met us a one of the stores. It was such a fun surprise!! We ran a few errands, then drove down to see Jadyn at college and bring her back with us! My best friend, Angela, just happened to be in Seward watching her sister at the track meet!! We got to chat for a few minutes which just added to my perfect day! Then we headed to the lake to help prepare for the party.

Matt was planning to go jet skiing and wanted to bring his swimsuit...

This is what he wore instead!

Looked plenty cold to me!

Sunday was National Siblings Day. It was pretty cool to be with all my siblings on the day!

The party was Sunday night so we were there for supper then had to take off. We headed back, and the red carpet was laid out for us! ;)

It was such a great weekend, and I hope everyone enjoyed the surprise! I was definitely in need for a weekend home. Can't wait until we are back again! :)

Hosting Easter

Hope you all had a Happy Easter! What a wonderful season to celebrate! Friday evening we helped out at the Good Friday service at church, I was in the nursery and Matt ushered. The service was held outside and we went to the one at 8:30. WAY past our bedtime and it got a little chilly, but otherwise really cool!
I found a cute recipe for Easter bark so we made that (a few times!)!

We decided to host Easter and invited Matt's aunt and uncle and some of his second cousins.

I figured it was time we use our china! We have no display case yet so it has stayed in boxes. When I got everything out, I felt like we just moved in!

I am not quite as good as my Grandma Gene was, but I did set the table on Saturday!

Sunday morning at church. Matt was a greeter and I helped in the nursery again.

Matt put a brisket on late Saturday night, and it was delicious!

We had a great time, and hosting may be one of my most favorite things!

Spring Training and BBQ

Matt's friend, Tommy and his dad came down to AZ for a pretty awesome getaway. They spent time at Spring Training games and on the golf course. We met up with them for dinner on Friday night. Sunday we met them for a Royals game. It was a beautiful day for baseball!

We got to see Alex Gordon play a few innings!

On his first pitch, he hit a home run!

We enjoyed their company while we had it. Hopefully they had fun too!
Last weekend Matt and I took all our fruit off the trees.

Then we juiced ALL of it!

Here I thought I was almost done!

And I got another 50+ oz.! In total we have over 200 oz. (everything you see, plus an extra 50 oz. in ice cube trays).

Matt squeezed the tangelos which we also have plenty of juice from that too! ;)

Saturday night we headed to the Chandler BBQ Festival with some friends.

We went last year and pretty much missed all of the food. This year we got there early enough to enjoy some delicious BBQ! Granger Smith was the headliner and did a great job!

And I will leave you with an embarrassing story from Monday. I stopped to go to the bathroom around 2 in the afternoon. When I looked in the mirror I noticed my earrings didn't seem to match. Sure enough, they didn't!! I sent this picture to my friend Lauren and she couldn't stop laughing!

I have two pairs of ivory earrings that I bought from different stores. Different colors, different sizes, and slightly different shapes. What a case of the Mondays!!
