My Birthday

Hello again friends! As I said Monday was my birthday so today I thought I'd share my day with all of you. Like I mentioned, my friend, Jenny, and I both took the day off. She came over to help me get ready for our party later that night and then we headed to lunch. We went to BRIO for some extra yummy pasta! If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, I would totally pick pasta! After lunch we headed to FROST for gelato. I got mine for free, and they even decorated it to look like a birthday cake with candles on top!

That afternoon, we headed to Burst of Butterflies, a local art studio, for our first pottery class! We had so much fun!

I got much better as the class went on!

Jenny made four pieces she liked, and I have two closely matching bowls. In a couple weeks, we get to go back and paint our pottery!

That evening we had the neighbors over for pizza!

My mom got me a really cool platter and bowl that can be accented with attachments depending on the occasion. Jenny happens to have the same one so I borrowed her present attachment!

Little Abby was the life of the party!

We always have fun hanging out with our neighbors!

I made myself a Cookie Pie,

everyone sang and enjoyed cake!

It was a pretty fun day! Tuesday was back to the grind...We have a pretty low key weekend plan. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Pumpkin and Chili Party

We have been having a great time pretending it is fall in Phoenix. The temperature is still in the 90s, but we are doing as many fall things as we can with our neighbors! I have been doing more crafting with Jenny.

Saturday we spent the entire day with our neighbors; it was a super fun day! We started the day at Schnepf Farms for their Pumpkin and Chili Party. Matt was ready for some fun!

I saw on the map they had the jumping pillows available. As you may recall, when we were out there for my birthday, we had a blast jumping on them!

I was SUPER excited to take Abby on them. The girls had a BLAST jumping!!

By this point, I think I was having the most fun!

We were sporting shirts from our two favorite states-NE and AZ!

While Abby rode the kiddie rides, Matt and I took a turn on the swings!

We headed over for the pig races. The workers were super entertaining.

For each group of races, the farmer picked out a few kids to cheer on each pig as their own. The last round a set of goats raced and they wanted adults out of the crowd. Naturally Matt got chosen!

They had to do all kinds of crazy things like yell "sooie" as loud as possible!

Isn't she the cutest thing ever? She's my favorite!

The boys had fun shooting some pumpkins.

Matt took a turn at the zip line!

We watched the BMX bike show. My pictures didn't turn out too great because we wanted to sit in the shade!

We went for a fun hayride!

And took a turn at the corn maze. I had to send this picture to my brother because their corn did not look too good!

Making our way through the corn maze!

We made it out and headed to pick out our pumpkins!

We had such a fun filled day!

We came home real quick to add our pumpkins to our front porches. Then we were off to a party at our old neighbor's new house. We played badminton, had fun hanging out, and enjoyed some amazing Italian food!

We spent Sunday recovering and getting caught up on work. Such a fun weekend with some really fun friends! Stay tuned as we have more fun things planned in the next few weeks!

Fall=football and crafting

Hello again friends! And just like that, it's been almost two weeks since I have written another blog post. My neighbor Jenny had a brilliant idea several weeks ago for Matt and I to come over all day on Sunday. The boys could watch football, and their daughter Abby, while Jenny and I make cards on her cricut all day! I had that day in my calendar as cricut day for nearly a month!! I was so excited!! In other news, I have been working on perfecting my chocolate chip cookie cakes (more on that in another post). So I made one to take over there, and friends, it was SSOOO fun!!!
We were playing games with our neighbors that Saturday so I showed Jenny the original picture of the cake. Turns out they like frosting as much as we do so I added a bit more to it before I brought it over! For me, you can never have too much frosting!

Matt and Abby had a great time playing outside!

Jenny and Alexa had a great time playing inside!

We were seriously there for 10 hours straight! I had a blast, but I was getting tired at the end. While I was finishing my last few cards, these smiley faces stay on my board!

I thought it was so cute! After 10 hours of card making, here is what I came up with!

And here are both of ours combined!!

It was seriously the best day ever for all of us! We munched on yummy food all day, the girls made crafts, and the boys sat around and watched football. A win for everyone!
On Wednesday of that week, Jenny and I planned another craft night. This time, we went to a local art studio and painted pottery! It was such a blast!! Here is what I came up with.

And I had to take her to Ice Cream Sammies because it was right next door, and how can you refuse cookies and ice cream when they are next door??

Then on Friday we thought we needed more crafting so I went over to make a couple more cards! Three nights of crafting in one week sounds like the best week ever to me!

I picked up our fired pottery pieces the other day. They turned out great!! I LOVE Jenny's Arizona sunset bowl! We will be eating lots of guacamole out of that thing!

And here is a closer look at mine! They had these patterned stamps you could use. There were some really cute paisley ones which is what I tried on my small ring holder plate. It is hard to see, but it turned out pretty cute.

I changed my chalkboard sign for the fall, and added my newest creation next to it!

In terms of looking at regular weeks (i.e.-no vacation, days off, etc.) this one may have just taken the cake!
