Life Update

Well friends it's been a little while since I have posted an update. We have just been doing life over here. The weather has been gorgeous so we have been trying to spend as much time as we can outside. We joined a sand volleyball league with our neighbors and Matt's cousins. Since we have six players, we take turns rotating so I finally took some pictures on a set I sat out. They are not the best quality since we play at night, and all I had was my phone.

Abby came along to cheer this week!

I also made another Cookie Pie order. It was so much fun making this one!

One weekend we had no plans (woo-hoo!!) so we bought ourselves a new game, Ticket to Ride Europe. It's a really fun strategy game! Matt won the first several games, but I have upped my skills and have been beating him a lot lately!! ;)

Remember the pottery class Jenny and I took on my birthday? We finally made it back over there to start painting our pieces. I decided to make a chip and dip bowl set. I decorated my two smaller bowls while we were there.

I bought a bigger bowl while I was there and will decorate that next time.

I can't wait to see how they turn out! That's our life update. Hope you are all doing well!!

A Wedding and Harvest

As most of you know, this past weekend we took another trip back to Nebraska. Several months ago when we were making all of our travel arrangements we knew we wanted to come home in October. I knew I would be ready to see my family again, and Matt wanted to help with harvest. My trip last month was not originally planned, but I am beginning to like this being home once a month. We will see how often that actually happens. But for now, it is great to catch up with everyone. I think I see more people now than when I lived there or even came home from Kansas City. I told my family it's a win-win. We get to live in a really cool place and see our family quite often!
As soon as we got there Matt was ready to head out to the farm. Look at my little farmer!

Friday, Matt was out farming again and my whole family all ended up in the same place at once. This hardly ever happens so I felt I should document it!

It was a bonus we were back for Homecoming. I have not been to too many of them since I graduated from high school. The cheerleaders danced at halftime.

They did a great job! Sorry, night pictures don't always look so great on my phone :)

After the game they announced homecoming royalty. Congrats to all the winners!

After the game we came home for wedding cake. My mom has been graciously storing ours for nearly two years. She suggested that since Matt and I were both in town at the same time we should maybe eat it.

I was so impressed-it was actually still really good. I only had one tiny, tiny piece at our wedding so I do not really remember what it tasted like. I think it might have been better the second time around!

Nolan thought it would be awesome to take a picture through another phone so this is how it turned out...

After our cake we headed up to the Homecoming dance real quick to watch them re-crown the royalty.

Saturday morning Atlee had a volleyball tournament. It was another bonus I got to watch her play! Did we not pick the perfect weekend to come back?

That night we headed to my friend Skylar's wedding. It was gorgeous and so great to see tons of old friends. Here is the wreath I made for them! Hope they like it :)

After the wedding we met up with some old Southwestern friends. Of course I wish it could have been longer, but it was great to catch up. Hope we get to see them again soon!
Now it is back to the grind of work. Tomorrow our office is closed, but I have filled my agenda with my busiest day yet. Wish me luck!

Surprise Weekend Home

I am taking a break from Tasty Tuesday this week. I have some other things I need to get you caught up on first. Many of you know I made a quick trip home to Nebraska to see my family and surprise Jadyn.
Since they are now charging for carry-on bags I thought I could attempt to get all of my things in a "personal item."I did it!!!

Can you believe it?! FOUR DAYS worth of luggage in that little bag!! Normally I take at least twice as much for an overnight trip.
My parents picked me up from the airport and took me to eat at Flippin' Sweet. It was just as yummy as I remember. We made it back home before the girls got back from school. Jadyn was definitely surprised to see me. Everyone else had figured out I was coming back so it was nice to surprise someone! It was senior night so I helped my mom get some things prepared for it. We hung signs on their lockers.

And got some cookies for them to share with the team (and their family!)

Here we go, pictures galore!

Family pic!

These made it home so we got to enjoy them!

On Friday evening I was planning on meeting Angela in Grand Island to catch up. Well my dad had other plans. He was flying to somewhere in eastern Nebraska for a meeting during the day and asked if I wanted to come with. Luckily, Angela was super flexible and made it work! We ended up landing in Wahoo. We thought we needed a selfie in front of this mailbox. How cute, right?! I'm not quite sure what Wanahoo Aviation is....Maybe they had a couple extra letters so they decided to throw them on the mailbox...

After she picked me up we headed to Nebraska Crossing. It is such a great place! Freezing, but awesome. Franscesa's had just opened. Over half of the store was $14.98 and under. If you Nebraskans are free this week you should totally go check it out! I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was very fun while it lasted.
And she made me this adorable luggage tag. How cute is this?!? She is so talented and makes it looks so easy!!

It was so good to see her. I wish she lived next door...Maybe someday...
We headed back to Phelps County, but first we had to take a little airplane selfie. I asked my dad if he was upset...

He said no...

Saturday we hit up more volleyball with a tournament in Loomis. We got to watch another Elwood vs. Bertrand match-up as well as two other games.

They played so great!! It was very enjoyable to watch. They ended up winning the whole tournament!

Look at those seniors!

I got to watch four games and four wins. A totally successful weekend I must say.

That night we went uptown for a game of pool.

Turns out Jadyn's and Atlee's pool game is just about as good as mine...

We ended the night with a big round of Scattergories. We had some real interesting answers that led to lots of laughs.

Sunday the whole fam took me to the airport.

It was such a blessing to sneak in another visit home before I start working. I was also sure to get in lots of eating out, seeing almost my whole extended family, and a little boutique shopping in Holdrege.
Come back later this week as I recap the flood we had last week.
