Post Holiday Fun

The day after Christmas we were pretty exhausted. We tried doing a little shopping, but the mall was too busy for us. The next day we were much more in the shopping mood. After shopping, were stopped at my mom's favorite spot, Bahama Buck's!

While the girls shopped, the guys headed to...the moon??

Well actually just a museum in Tucson to look at a bunch of airplanes. I think everyone had a lot of fun in their respected activities. We found out the Cactus Bowl was that evening and tickets were on sale for $6! We decided we better go check it out. We got to see the Boise State band play a couple songs outside the stadium.

We grabbed a quick dinner by the stadium but made it into the game early to check everything out.

We met some friends of my parents for the game as well.

We enjoyed watching the bands perform. Baylor had some really neat formations!

As did Boise State.

Before the game began, they opened the roof to allow several sky divers to land on the field.

They were insanely accurate!

The game began, but we spent most of our time watching for our tweet on the big screen!

Finally, in the second quarter it popped up!

They had free Raising Cane's on the back of our tickets so we headed over there after we left the game.

The next day my family left, after a slight delay. I also headed back to work. I came home early for a wedding of one of Matt's office assistants. It was such a beautiful wedding and a fun Wednesday night!

The next day was our anniversary. We were so exhausted after our busy last several weeks. We ended up ordering take out, looking at a few Christmas lights, and enjoying some wine and Christmas cookies. Such a simple night but lots of fun!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Well friends I am back today sharing more of our Christmas celebrating. We spent lots of time eating!! We started with a yummy brunch.

Later in the day we headed to church for Christmas Eve service.

Then we came back for a yummy dinner.

More pics with the fam!

We opened a few more gifts that night.

We woke up on Christmas morning to see Santa had come! While we waited for everyone to wake up, Jadyn made herself comfortable in the most unusual way. :)

Waiting to run over and open our gifts!

Santa was sneaky this year and even covered our gifts so we couldn't see them!

Matt and I were excited to show off our new aprons from Atlee!

My mom and I were festive for Christmas Day!

Jadyn picked out Christmas dinner and we made everything she asked for. She even helped make a couple things! After lunch we headed to the park for a couple activities. We started with a football game. My team lost, but we took great pictures!

Then we competed in our annual Christmas Day basketball game. We tried to re-create the picture we took two years ago in the same spot. I think we did pretty good!

We had dips and appetizers that night, my favorite!

We played lots of games while my family was here including Christmas Family Feud,

Christmas trivia,

Christmas Carol fill in the blank,

unscramble the song title, and a few new board games we got. This night we played lots of dice games.

We also headed over to "Christmas on Comstock" to check out their display. The entire neighborhood has their lights synced up together. They won the Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC last year. Matt and I drove around the neighborhood last year, but this year we chose to walk.

It was such a beautiful sight! My family stayed a couple days after Christmas. Come back again soon to check out how we ended 2016!

Fall=football and crafting

Hello again friends! And just like that, it's been almost two weeks since I have written another blog post. My neighbor Jenny had a brilliant idea several weeks ago for Matt and I to come over all day on Sunday. The boys could watch football, and their daughter Abby, while Jenny and I make cards on her cricut all day! I had that day in my calendar as cricut day for nearly a month!! I was so excited!! In other news, I have been working on perfecting my chocolate chip cookie cakes (more on that in another post). So I made one to take over there, and friends, it was SSOOO fun!!!
We were playing games with our neighbors that Saturday so I showed Jenny the original picture of the cake. Turns out they like frosting as much as we do so I added a bit more to it before I brought it over! For me, you can never have too much frosting!

Matt and Abby had a great time playing outside!

Jenny and Alexa had a great time playing inside!

We were seriously there for 10 hours straight! I had a blast, but I was getting tired at the end. While I was finishing my last few cards, these smiley faces stay on my board!

I thought it was so cute! After 10 hours of card making, here is what I came up with!

And here are both of ours combined!!

It was seriously the best day ever for all of us! We munched on yummy food all day, the girls made crafts, and the boys sat around and watched football. A win for everyone!
On Wednesday of that week, Jenny and I planned another craft night. This time, we went to a local art studio and painted pottery! It was such a blast!! Here is what I came up with.

And I had to take her to Ice Cream Sammies because it was right next door, and how can you refuse cookies and ice cream when they are next door??

Then on Friday we thought we needed more crafting so I went over to make a couple more cards! Three nights of crafting in one week sounds like the best week ever to me!

I picked up our fired pottery pieces the other day. They turned out great!! I LOVE Jenny's Arizona sunset bowl! We will be eating lots of guacamole out of that thing!

And here is a closer look at mine! They had these patterned stamps you could use. There were some really cute paisley ones which is what I tried on my small ring holder plate. It is hard to see, but it turned out pretty cute.

I changed my chalkboard sign for the fall, and added my newest creation next to it!

In terms of looking at regular weeks (i.e.-no vacation, days off, etc.) this one may have just taken the cake!
